My Philosophy of Nursing

My philosophy of nursing encompasses the values that protect density, build trust and holistically care for the patient. That is why, according to my definition, Nursing always implies the perfect combination of knowledge-based and emotional approaches to a patient's needs. Continuing professional development as a care practice professional makes our practices relevant, accurate and culturally appropriate because I support the practice of continuing education as a professional care practice throughout one's career. I hope to achieve the objectives of patient-centred care that embrace equity, respect, and compassion because nurses play the crucial role of influencing the healthcare systems and societies positively (Fawcett, 2023).

Personal Values

Empathy

Empathy is the basis on which a nurse involved in the care of clients creates rapport. The very first rotation I had as a caregiver for an elderly family member had an impact on my understanding of empathy as well as active listening to the patient (Tuohy, 2019).

Accountability

Who is accountable for the level of ethics and professionalism in the practice of nurses? To build trust with the patients and other healthcare workers I ensure that I accept their criticism and try to critique myself (Perry et al., 2018).

Cultural Competence

Cultural diversity is one of the characteristics of the patient population, and therefore, cultural sensibility is critical in the delivery of healthcare. My attention has always been on the fact that owing to a multicultural background, I realized that care could be given to the person according to their needs (Tuohy, 2019).
